Dear Gaby Much Love xxx

Your N.Bar experience!

Since 2001, N.Bar has helped women look their best. This year, we are redesigning our N.Bar experience to make women “feel” their best by creating a space to unplug from the day-to-day.

We want to encourage women to spend their time at N.Bar reflecting on issues that matter to them and carve out some “me time” from their busy schedule. This is why Gaby was born. Think of Gaby as your diary, your inner voice that compels you to act.

Over the next 2 months, Gaby will be inviting you to speak up and share your thoughts. Together we will explore what it’s like to be a woman today while (of course) leveraging N.Bar as the space and the platform for reflection.

Meet Gaby.

When I was 10, I decided to become a business woman because I knew it was the best way to make money to buy my mom a castle.

At 11, I decided to become a veterinarian because I knew it was the best way to alleviate animal suffering.

At 12, I hit puberty.

Raging hormones meant I knew what I did not want, of course, because who knows what they want when their brain is being shaken and thrust and twisted and thrown in the most violent ways. The status of not knowing what I wanted lasted for… actually it’s still going.

Who knows what they really want, really. It is easier to eliminate than to decide. On the road to self discovery, I started to analyze every single aspect of my life. This brain of mine refuses to take a break. This brain of mine is my partner in crime. Together we explore, experiment, exterminate, extract and eliminate what we do not want, who we want, where we do not want to be, what we want to do, so on so forth. The beauty of the female brain is its ability to shift depending on circumstance. Where we are, who we are with, what we are doing, are all potential analytical subject matters.

I know I do not want to be sucked into every petty conversation trending on my gazillion social media accounts. But, I also know that I would not like to be left out of this conversation, because “loser” is not a stigma I would like to carry.

What to do? analyze the #$@ of out this particular dilemma.

We, as in, me, myself and I had to decide whether we are followers or leaders. Leaders of course.

We decided that leaders do what they think is best, without being sucked into the herd mentality. Leaders work harder than others to stay in the lead, and they also party harder because, well, they are leaders on all levels.

With the mindset of a leader, and more importantly, when my hormones were behaving rationally, I decided that, since I am poking this brain of mine continuously, I might as well log my findings in writing.

Much love,

Gaby xx
